We are less than 2 weeks away from Acronis #CyberFit Summit Dubai. As part of its Schools Initiative, in 2022 the Acronis Cyber Foundation aims to provide 200 talented girls at the Molo Mhlaba school in Khayelitsha, Cape Town, South Africa with a better learning environment.
Molo Mhlaba — which means “hello, world” in the Xhosa language — is an iSTEAM school that aims to ensure black girls, especially those living in underserved communities, have access to quality, safe, and affordable education which will allow them to transform their lives and the lives of their families. A major challenge that the school currently faces is that they’re operating out of a rented facility that wasn’t designed for this purpose.
The Acronis Cyber Foundation, working with project partners on the ground, is driving the construction of a new, purpose-built school for the girls of Khayelitsha. The land has already been purchased and the first stage of construction is about to start. The local community is participating in this process, helping to ensure the school’s sustainability and an ongoing commitment to lifechanging education.
