Acronis supports Molo Mhlaba Institute’s STEAM room renovation

At the end of 2023, Acronis proudly supported the renovation and furnishing of a STEAM room at Molo Mhlaba Montclair Campus in Cape Town, South Africa. The grant enabled the acquisition of 30 adult chairs, a smart board, and 15 two-seater desks, alongside significant renovations, including painting and re-flooring the classroom used for the Molo Mhlaba Institute training center.

This initiative aims to facilitate the participation of Molo Mhlaba Institute students in a professional development program integrating ICT skills, Montessori education, and STEAM education. The program specifically targets young women aged 18-25 years who currently lack opportunities for training and employment.

Thus far, the 22 pilot students have successfully completed three modules of their courses and attended a three-day ICT skills workshop. To obtain their full certificates, these students must complete seven online modules by December 2024.

In January 2025, an additional 30 students will enroll in a 24-month training program, expanding the initiative. Upon completing the training, the students will be eligible for employment at Molo Mhlaba Schools as teaching assistants, providing them with meaningful employment opportunities. Some may choose to pursue further studies to obtain full teaching qualifications.

Acronis is proud to have supported this meaningful project, which stands as a testament to the power of education and the impact of community-driven initiatives. By equipping young women with valuable skills and opportunities, the Molo Mhlaba Institute is not only transforming individual lives but also contributing to the broader goal of social and economic development in Cape Town.
