In February 2024, the Acronis Cyber Foundation Program made a significant impact in the heart of Ang Mo Kio, Singapore, by donating 12 laptops and furniture to establish a new computer classroom named “CyberSphere” at Child at Street 11. This initiative marks a continuation of our ongoing commitment to support local communities, particularly in providing educational opportunities to underserved children.
The CyberSphere Classroom: A Space for Growth and Learning
The creation of the CyberSphere classroom is more than just a donation; it’s a gateway to learning, digital literacy, and future opportunities for the children at Child at Street 11. With ten dedicated volunteers from Acronis Singapore and Privacy Trust on board, the classroom was transformed into a vibrant space equipped with 12 laptops and ergonomic furniture, designed to inspire young minds and provide a conducive environment for learning.
The volunteers, along with Bryan Lu from Privacy Trust, an Acronis partner, went above and beyond by painting and cleaning the space, ensuring that the classroom was not only functional but also welcoming. Additionally, they formatted the laptops, preparing them for the students to use immediately. This hands-on involvement exemplifies Acronis’ commitment to making a tangible difference in the communities we serve.
The CyberSphere classroom is now a hub where students can explore the world of technology, learn essential digital skills, and prepare for a future in a world that is increasingly driven by technology. This initiative aligns with our belief that every child deserves access to the tools and resources necessary to thrive in the digital age.
CyberSphere Community Festival 2024: A Celebration of Learning and Cybersecurity Awareness
The establishment of the CyberSphere classroom is just the beginning. As a follow-up to our initial work with Child at Street 11, Acronis organized the CyberSphere Community Festival 2024 in July. This event was a day filled with fun, learning, and cybersecurity awareness for the Ang Mo Kio community.
The festival featured a range of activities designed to engage children and adults alike, from interactive cybersecurity workshops to games. Bryan Lu from Privacy Trust also joined in, contributing to the event’s success. Our goal was not only to celebrate the new CyberSphere classroom but also to raise awareness about the importance of cybersecurity in today’s digital world. The event brought together community members, and cybersecurity experts, creating a space for learning and collaboration.
A Continued Commitment to Community and Education
At Acronis, we believe in the power of education and the importance of giving back to the communities where we operate. The CyberSphere classroom and the subsequent CyberSphere Community Festival are just two examples of how we’re working to make a difference.
We are proud of the contributions made by our volunteers and partners like Bryan Lu from Privacy Trust, and the positive impact these initiatives have had on the children and families at Child at Street 11. As we look to the future, Acronis remains committed to supporting educational programs and fostering a safer, more connected world.
