Acronis Marine Conservation Volunteering Day: Coming Together for a Greener Future

On 18 Oct 2024, we had the incredible opportunity to join forces with passionate volunteers and business partners for our Acronis Australia Marine Conservation Volunteering Day in Botany Bay in Sydney. The day started under cloudy skies and the sound of raindrops. Despite the morning rain, the spirits of our volunteers and business partners were not dampened. As the weather cleared, we could continue with the planned activities, and the sun peeked through just in time for our beach clean-up!

We were thrilled to see a strong turnout from our community, with 19 individuals joining us for the day. In addition to our dedicated Acronis leaders & staff volunteers, 8 business partners supported the cause, highlighting the importance of corporate responsibility and community collaboration in environmental initiatives.

We kicked off with a brief introduction to the marine conservation efforts in the area, led by Oceanwatch Australia experts who shared key insights on the importance of protecting our marine ecosystems. Volunteers were then divided into groups, tackling beach clean-ups to help preserve habitats. Together, we managed to collect 10 bags of waste and made a tangible impact on the environment.

But beyond the work, the event fostered an incredible sense of community and shared purpose. We witnessed meaningful conversations and new connections being formed, all while sharing the common goal of protecting our natural world.

Thank you to all our business partners (Crayon, Hyperix, Ingram Micro, IT&T Pty Ltd, IT Ventures Pty Ltd) and volunteers for showing up and making this day a success! Your commitment to the cause has made a lasting impact, and we look forward to continuing our journey towards a cleaner, greener future—together.

Stay tuned for more opportunities to participate in upcoming events and conservation efforts.
