Inspiring the next generation of tech talent in Sofia

In May 2025, Acronis Chief Development Officer Nick Grebennikov visited the 2nd High School “Acad. Emiliyan Stanev” in Sofia to deliver a guest lecture to around 80 eighth and ninth graders. With contagious enthusiasm, he shared insights into the world of software development, sparking curiosity and inspiring many students to learn more about the tech industry.

To build on this excitement, Acronis welcomed 16 of these students to its Sofia office on June 25, 2025, for a special educational visit to give them a real-world glimpse into IT careers and corporate life. The visit began with a tour of the Acronis office, offering the students a feel for the day-to-day atmosphere and culture of a modern tech company. Afterward, they attended a series of short talks designed to showcase the diversity of career paths in the IT world beyond traditional software development highlighting how the tech industry thrives on a wide range of talents, from technical communication and user experience design to digital business strategy. The speakers shared what their work involves, the skills it requires, and how they found their way into the tech industry, making these professions more relatable and tangible for the young audience.

To conclude the day, the students participated in a fun and educational cyber safety game, reinforcing key principles for staying safe online and putting their knowledge to the test.

This event was made possible in collaboration with our NGO partner, Telerik Academy. A heartfelt thank you goes to their team for their ongoing commitment to educating young minds and for organizing this unforgettable visit.

At Acronis, we believe that nurturing early interest in technology helps pave the way for a smarter, safer digital future. We’re proud to support the next generation of tech leaders!
