Project implementation

In June 2022, RNT Rausch, who have fundraised 75% of the school cost, and the Acronis Cyber Foundation, having contributed 25% of the cost, have opened a first-class educational center in Los Maranitos. It will not be a school in the classical sense, but a supplementary educational institution to the public schools in the region, as these are not open for about 5 months a year and children do not acquire sufficient skills.

The new educational institution will bring benefit to the whole community by offering coed programs and access to the classes for all community members. Its curriculum will include academic courses and environmental education.

The public school in Los Maranitos has morning and afternoon sessions, and the new educational center will have a curriculum complementary to the public school’s schedule so that all children can attend classes there. It will work in close cooperation with the public school and track academic performance of each child. The educational institution will be open Monday to Saturday, all year long.

Read what community says about the project

I am grateful for the Mariposa Mountain School and my ability to work with its students. I can see the impact it has on the community through the smiles on the students’ faces. They are excited to participate, and because of the regular programming, students’ skills are increasing. It feels good to be making a difference.
