Project implementation
The vast majority of the original indigenous people of Argentina, such as the community of Saltos del Moconá, have never received an education. Young people generally face enormous obstacles to pursuing their education, such as absence of nearby schools, the lengthy commutes (30 to 40 km each way, mainly on dirt roads), and the low socioeconomic status of their families.
In 2023, the Acronis Cyber Foundation Program, along with their local NGO partner Fundacion Compartir aims to build a school together with local villages. It will be constructed mainly out of ecological materials from the site and region itself. The building will be 70 m2 and will include three classrooms and a library and will benefit 50 children from 5 to 15 years old, as well as generations to come.
The building will be powered by solar energy, benefiting not only the students but the entire village by providing access to electricity.
