Project implementation
In November 2017, the Acronis Cyber Foundation officially opened a school in the village of Ata, in Myanmar’s Kyaukpadaung Township.
Due to a lack of school buildings in Atar, many children previously had to learn outdoors, where they were exposed to wind and weather. With the construction of the new school building, the children have a chance to learn in a safe and comfortable environment.
Ata’s new primary school now provides an education to 150 children from kindergarten through the first four school years. , a non-profit organization that supports access to education for children in rural areas of the country, collaborated with the Acronis Cyber Foundation on this project.
The school experienced disappointment in 2017–2018 when none of the students passed the final exam. But with the new building established, they started seeing changes in 2018–2019 when three out of twenty students passed. In 2019–2020, six out of seven passed the exam.
