The Acronis Foundation and Cloudfest, the world’s largest cloud and hosting event, joined forces to fund a school construction project in Guatemala, successfully raising nearly 22,000 Euros, through the generous donations of individuals and service providers attending the event.
Construction on the school is still underway and will be completed in the first week of August. Upon opening, the school will provide a safe learning environment for 525 children, who currently attend classes in overcrowded facilities. The three new classrooms made possible through this funding will be built in partnership with Esperanza e.V. with heavy involvement from the community itself. The new construction will ensure smaller class sizes and allow more space for the high-demand classes.
The Acronis Foundation would like to offer special thanks to Flock, Dell, and Open-Xchange who collectively raised more than 11,000 Euros for this important project.
