Update on COVID-19 Emergency Relief Fund – South Africa

A word of thanks from Molo Mhlaba, our NGO partner in South Africa.

Acronis Cyber Foundation continues to engage our NGO partners for updates to better understand their most critical needs, as they change rapidly.

Hello friends,

I am Rethabile and the Director of Mhlaba Schools. Molo Mhlaba is the first primary school for girls in Kayelitsha, Cape Town.

Since the national lockdown in South Africa which started in mid-March, we’ve seen school closures, children staying at home and out of schools. As a school that serves disadvantaged girls in Cape Town South Africa, we realised there is an emergency of learning and access to hygiene products. The COVID-19 virus has changed the way we think about schools and South Africa.

We like to thank our friend from Acronis Cyber Foundation for their support and being able to put together the kits for 108 girls, which includes hand sanitizers, face masks, toothbrushes, soaps, toothpaste and washcloths. We were able to deliver these to every child in our school community.

We really want to thank you for your support.

One of the cheapest and most efficient ways to prevent the spread of the COVID-19 virus is regular handwashing with soap and water. For many of the children and their families, basic, yet essential, supplies and protective equipment remain out of reach.

Please consider making a donation to support them. With your help, we can send the supplies to them and safeguard a knowledgeable future.
