Update on COVID-19 Emergency Relief Fund – Guatemala

Our NGO partner in Guatemala, San Antonio, Sololá, shared with us some news of the plans to distribute aid packages to the school community.

In Phase One, 170 families from our primary school community will receive much-needed food packages which contain essentials like beans, corn, powdered milk, and oil. The school is also making arrangements to include homeschooling kits to ensure the continuity of learning for the children as the school remains closed.

Maintaining a safe but effective distribution process is the top priority. In two weeks’ time, the aid packages will be distributed at an open field where it is possible to ensure safe distancing among the families. Plans are also underway for Phase Two where we reach out to the families from our secondary school community.

School closures across Latin America have left many children temporarily without school classes. While some are able to continue learning remotely, online learning isn’t an option in more isolated areas.

Please consider supporting them with a donation. With your help, we can send the necessary supplies to them and safeguard a knowledgeable future.
