Acronis SCSVets graduate Shaun Johnson, featured in Equal Opportunity magazine

Have you seen the latest issue of Equal Opportunity magazine?

It highlights the career journey of one of our most inspiring Acronis SCSVets graduates, Shaun Johnson. Currently based in Scottsdale, AZ, Shaun had earned his high school diploma, attended various military training schools, recently graduated from an Acronis SCSVets Program, and became CompTIA A+ certified. Check out his interview and learn more about his transition to the cyber field after 20+ years in the US Navy!

Our first cohort of fourteen veteran students of the Acronis SCSVets graduated on May 19, 2020. At the virtual ceremony, these graduates were recognized for having achieved internationally-recognized credentials and skills that are needed to thrive in self-sustaining cyber careers. You can also hear more from Shaun, sharing his journey during his graduation speech below, from 7:50 to 10:50.

Acronis SCSVets, a Scottsdale-based nonprofit is dedicated to helping veterans build a career in cybersecurity, whether at Acronis SCS or other small-to-medium businesses. It also seeks to narrow Arizona’s cyber workforce shortage by empowering veterans, active-duty military, and military spouses with the credentials, skills, and resources they need to pursue a cybersecurity career – all at zero cost to them.

Unlike other programs that prioritize online learning, Acronis SCSVets’ unique, scalable, and high-touch program utilizes community-oriented partners to provide tailored cyber training and a comprehensive support system that meet the needs of each veteran and military community.
