Rebuilding education and dreams in Namibia

The Acronis Cyber Foundation is excited to announce the renovation of a school for the children of Baumgartsbrunn in Namibia, together with our implementing partner PEN PAPER PEACE. The school is made possible with the generous support from Mr Serguei Beloussov and his daughter Sofia.

The project has started in January 2020. Currently, 200 children from surrounding farms and unofficial settlements are attending this school. The majority of them belong to the Damara ethnic group, one of the most disadvantaged ethnic groups in Namibia. Although the school is government-run, other related facilities such as the boarding school, maintenance of the associated accommodation and food, are not funded by the government.

After the construction and renovation project is over, the Acronis Cyber Foundation and the Beloussov family plan to establish a computer classroom in the school. Mr Beloussov’s children, Sofia and Alexander are currently raising funds in their respective schools to support the computer classroom.
