The time has come for the fourth consecutive year to celebrate the remarkable achievements of the IT Skills Program in Schaffhausen, Switzerland. This transformative initiative has been dedicated to supporting aspiring individuals who recently moved to Switzerland from Ukraine, Afghanistan, Turkey, and Iraq. The program empowers these individuals to succeed in the Swiss job market by providing essential IT skills, fostering integration and opening doors to better employment and study opportunities.
A Collaborative Effort for Empowerment
The IT Skills Program, held in Schaffhausen, Switzerland, stands as a beacon of collaboration and dedication. With support from 13 volunteers from Acronis and Constructor Group, as well as two individuals from Backup ONE and the esteemed presence of Dr. Philipp Rösler, the program has created a supportive ecosystem that nurtures growth, inclusion, and empowerment. This partnership underscores the program’s commitment to providing holistic support to individuals with migrant heritage, recognizing that successful integration involves more than technical skills.
Technical and Professional Development
Throughout the program, 21 participants from diverse nations have engaged in a comprehensive curriculum that covered various essential topics. From mastering the Microsoft Office Suite, a critical skill in the modern workplace, to honing business correspondence and soft skills like resume writing and interview techniques, the graduates acquired a well-rounded skillset that extends beyond technical proficiency. The program strongly emphasised interpersonal skills and confidence-building measures, ensuring that graduates are well-prepared to successfully navigate the Swiss job market.
First of all, on behalf of myself and my sisters, I would like to thank you for the opportunity to learn about your company and the IT skills training program. We are learning from scratch. Our trainers have so much patience and strength to teach us. I’ve personally learn new things even in simple programs during the course. We thank you personally and our teachers and the entire team.
You give us a chance and hope to rise, and just remind us of who we are and where we come from. And, by the way, the German language course is a great motivation (another one) to learn German better and more effectively.

Developing Holistic Competence
The IT Skills Program goes beyond technical training, incorporating a series of soft skill workshops. These workshops covered topics such as cultural awareness, effective communication, and teamwork. Recognizing that professional success is intrinsically linked to interpersonal skills, the program ensured that graduates possessed a holistic set of competencies vital for thriving in the dynamic work environment.
A Pathway to Success: Free and Inclusive
The IT Skills Program for individuals with migrant heritage remains an inclusive initiative, offering free training to all participants with no prior IT experience required. The program’s commitment to breaking down financial barriers ensures that aspiring individuals can access valuable education and opportunities without hindrance. By providing this clear pathway to success, the program empowers migrants to chart their own destiny in a foreign land, building a better future for themselves and their families.
A Celebration of Empowerment
As the graduation ceremony concluded, a palpable sense of pride and hope filled the air. Once again, the Acronis Cyber Foundation Program proved itself as a catalyst for change, empowering 21 graduates from Ukraine, Afghanistan, Turkey, and Iraq with the skills and confidence to build a better future for themselves and their families.
