Every year, on the 3rd Saturday of September, the United Nations conducts World Cleanup Day, a global initiative aimed at addressing the mismanaged waste crisis. This remarkable event brings together millions of volunteers, governments, and organizations from 197 countries and territories to combat the worldwide waste problem and promote a more sustainable future. This year, the Acronis Turkey team joined the initiative to make a positive impact on their local community.
Last Saturday, on September 16th, Acronis team enthusiasts and their families joined an environmental awareness event organized by the Istanbul municipality. This event brought together volunteers from all over the city to address the issue of waste accumulation at Caddebostan beach and its surrounding areas. Together with their fellow city volunteers, they collected a staggering 72 kilograms of waste. Of this total, an impressive 9.3 kilograms were collected by Acronis’ dedicated team.
The Acronis Cyber Foundation Program extends its heartfelt thanks to all the volunteers who dedicated their time and energy to make this event a success. It is through such collective action that we can bring about meaningful change and combat the mismanaged waste crisis that threatens our planet.
World Cleanup Day is a powerful reminder that positive change begins with individual and collective action. The Acronis Turkey team’s participation in this global event exemplifies their commitment to environmental stewardship and their determination to create a cleaner, more sustainable world. As we reflect on their inspiring contributions, let us all be inspired to take action in our own communities and work towards a cleaner, greener future for generations to come. Together, we can make a difference.
