Embracing community spirit: Acronis Serbia joins the Big Clean-up initiative

Acronis Serbia recently participated in the “Veliko čišćenje” or “Big Clean-up” event in Belgrade. This event, held on October 14th, 2023, brought together 22 dedicated Acronis employees and their families who took up the noble cause of cleaning the embankment of the Sava River. Their hard work and determination resulted in the collection of more than 500 kg of trash, showcasing the power of collective effort in creating a cleaner, healthier environment for everyone. In total, 180 city volunteers took to the streets that day, cleaning 15 locations in Belgrade and Novi Sad, altogether collecting more than 40,000 liters of trash.

Leading the Acronis volunteers team was Denis Mikhailov, a dedicated advocate for positive change. Denis, whose motto is “if you want to change the world, start with yourself,” not only managed the Acronis team but also coordinated the city volunteers who selected this clean-up location from all the options offered by “Veliko čišćenje”.

About the “Big Clean-up”

The “Big Clean-up”, initiated for the first time in March 2023, has gained significant momentum in Serbia. It is organized by Grigorii Oksuzian, a passionate advocate for community service who recently moved to the country. After the first clean-up, Grigorii received overwhelming support from the community. Encouraged by the enthusiastic response, Grigorii plans to organize such clean-ups biannually, aiming to make a lasting impact on the environment and inspire others to undertake similar initiatives independently. He has already scheduled the next event for March 16, 2024.

We extend our heartfelt thanks to our team in Serbia for their dedication and hard work. Your efforts remind us all that by working together, we can create a cleaner, greener, and more vibrant future for generations to come.
