In the heart of Singapore, 50 enthusiastic students from Republic Polytechnic embarked on an exciting journey into the world of technology on 10 October 2023. More than just a field trip, this visit allowed these students to delve deep into the multifaceted tech industry. The day’s highlight? A thought-provoking panel discussion titled “Navigating IT Career Options: Discovering Diverse Paths in the Tech World.”

The Singapore office serves as a testament to innovation, and it was the ideal setting to introduce the students to the transformative tech realm. The visit commenced with a warm and informative welcome to the visiting students from Vladimir Zatsepin, Head of Global Platform & Singapore R&D Centre, offering an in-depth look at Acronis’ incredible journey in the cybersecurity sector and its profound impact on businesses worldwide. This journey showcased Acronis’ adaptability and resilience in the face of an ever-evolving threat landscape.

The much-anticipated panel discussion, “Navigating IT Career Options: Discovering Diverse Paths in the Tech World,” featured four distinguished speakers who have forged unique paths within the tech industry. The panellists included:

Vladimir Zatsepin, Head of Global Platform & Singapore R&D Centre: Vladimir provided a real-world view of the cybersecurity landscape and the responsibilities of safeguarding digital assets

Akshat Jhalani, Lead Software Engineer: Akshat’s narrative using the popular Golden Circle offered students a glimpse into the world of how much more we can achieve if we start everything we do by first asking a simple question: “Why?”

Minxuan Deng, Team Lead Software Development: Minxuan delved into the pivotal role of project management in tech and the skills necessary to lead IT projects to success.

Wei Hao Tan, Team Lead: Wei Hao shared his insights into software development and his journey to become a successful engineer in the cybersecurity domain.
