Acronis is proud to have supported the Global Cybersecurity Camp (GCC) 2025, held from February 10-14, 2025 in Taiwan, alongside industry leaders Bitdefender, BIT SENTINEL, and Secureworks. This year marked a significant milestone as we facilitated the participation of three exceptional Romanian students—Marc Luchian, Teodora Jilăveanu, and Fineas Silaghi—in this prestigious event.
Throughout the week, these students engaged in intensive cybersecurity training, collaborating with peers from around the globe. They tackled projects on Quantum Security, Single Sign-On (SSO), and Industrial Control Systems (ICS) Security. Notably, Teodora’s team secured a commendable victory in one of the competitions, showcasing the high caliber of talent emerging from Romania.
The camp offered a perfect blend of technical learning, cultural exchange, and teamwork. The Romanian delegation, guided by DefCamp founder Andrei Avădănei, not only enhanced their technical expertise but also built meaningful connections with fellow participants. Reflecting on this inaugural participation, Andrei expressed his enthusiasm: “I’m most excited about seeing young cybersecurity talents from Romania engage with top experts and peers from around the world. This is Romania’s first time participating, and it’s a huge step in integrating our local community into the global cybersecurity ecosystem.”

Sean Wang, Sr. Solutions Engineer at Acronis, delivered an insightful presentation during the industrial session, where various companies showcased their services and expertise. He emphasized, “At Acronis, we believe in empowering the next generation of cybersecurity professionals, and supporting initiatives like GCC aligns perfectly with our mission. Cybersecurity is more critical than ever, and fostering young talent ensures a stronger, more secure digital future. I hope that as these students step into their careers, they will continue to innovate, collaborate, and make meaningful contributions to the industry. It was inspiring to see their passion for learning and problem-solving, and I have no doubt that they will play a key role in shaping the future of cybersecurity.”

Emphasizing the significance of such initiatives, Rares Andrei Matei, Global Distribution Manager at Acronis, noted: “In the long run, initiatives like GCC shape the future of cybersecurity by developing highly skilled professionals who address industry challenges, close talent gaps, and drive innovation. Supporting such programs strengthens the cybersecurity landscape, ensuring a safer digital future for all.”
We extend our heartfelt gratitude to Taiwan for hosting this unforgettable event and warmly welcoming Team Romania. It is inspiring to witness leading companies investing in the development of future cybersecurity talent. At Acronis, we firmly believe that collaboration drives innovation, and events like GCC2025 are pivotal in shaping the future of cybersecurity.
