Acronis CISO Gerald Beuchelt Leads Cyber Safety Workshop for Children in Schaffhausen

In collaboration with go tec!, a Neuhausen-based science and technology lab, Acronis hosted a Cyber Safety Class for children in Schaffhausen. The session was led by Gerald Beuchelt, Chief Information Security Officer (CISO) at Acronis, who volunteered his time as part of his ongoing community engagement.

The workshop introduced key concepts of digital safety in a format accessible to children. Topics included:

  • Identifying online threats like phishing, scams, and suspicious behavior
  • Understanding the difference between personal and private information
  • Discussing the impact of cyberbullying and how to respond
  • Developing safe online habits and critical thinking

Children actively participated, shared their own digital experiences, and asked thoughtful questions, creating an open and engaging learning environment.

The session was designed to be engaging and approachable, encouraging kids to share their thoughts, ask questions, and reflect on their own online behavior.

This workshop is part of a global initiative led by the Acronis Cyber Foundation Program, which organizes Cyber Safety Classes for children and parents in communities around the world. These sessions are often hosted in collaboration with local partners and delivered by Acronis experts and volunteers. The goal is to raise awareness about digital risks and provide families with the tools and knowledge to navigate the internet safely.

Acronis is proud to support initiatives that strengthen digital literacy and create safer online environments for the next generation.
