Building cyber awareness early: A classroom session in Romania

On February 11, two of our Foundation Ambassadors delivered a cyber safety session to 22 sixth-grade students (ages 11–12) at Colegiul German Goethe in Romania.

At this age, many students are navigating their first social media accounts, online gaming platforms, and independent digital interactions. The session focused on practical, real-life scenarios: recognizing phishing attempts, protecting personal information, understanding strong passwords, and responding to cyberbullying.

Rather than a lecture, the discussion encouraged students to share their own online experiences and questions. This interactive format revealed both curiosity and vulnerability — a reminder of how early digital risks emerge. By engaging students at a formative stage, the initiative contributed to building foundational cyber awareness and digital responsibility. Early education remains one of the most effective ways to strengthen long-term cyber resilience within communities.💙
