Strengthening cyber resilience for seniors across Romania

Over 50 seniors gathered at the Casa de Cultură a Studenților in Ploiești for the first 2026 session of the national program “Cybersecurity – Initiation for Seniors”, led by the Romanian Institute for Active Aging in partnership with ICI București and supported by sponsors including Acronis.

As part of this national initiative – now in its seventh session following events in Bucharest, Craiova, Brăila, Constanța, and Brașov – cybersecurity specialists addressed real-world risks facing older adults aged 60+. Topics ranged from phishing and social engineering to password protection, online fraud prevention, and response steps for potential victims.

One message resonated strongly: personal data is like the key to one’s home – it should never be handed to strangers.

Acronis’ sustained contribution to this national initiative has been recognized with a trophy honoring its continued commitment to strengthening digital safety for seniors across Romania.💙
