We are happy to share that Acronis and NetFusion have jointly funded and launched a new STEAM robotics lab at ChildHope School in Los Cuadros de Purral, San José, Costa Rica, officially opened on May 5, 2026. Created through the Acronis Cyber Foundation #TeamUp Program, the initiative provides more than 230 students from underserved communities with access to hands-on technology education and future-ready learning opportunities.
Developed in collaboration with nonprofit partner ChildHope Network and Costa Rica-based Acronis partner Eximo, the project reflects a shared commitment to expanding access to education and digital skills development in underserved communities.

The new robotics lab is designed to help students develop practical skills in science, technology, engineering, arts, and mathematics (STEAM) through project-based learning. Equipped with robotics kits, computers, and tablets, the classroom creates an environment where students can strengthen problem-solving, collaboration, creativity, and digital literacy skills while gaining exposure to modern technology.
“When you walk into this classroom and see students building, experimenting, and imagining what’s possible, you realize this is about much more than technology; it’s about unlocking potential,” said Jeff Danus, Director of Strategic Account Management at Acronis. “Through the Acronis Cyber Foundation Program, Acronis is committed to helping communities create opportunities for the next generation. Together with our partner, NetFusion, we are proud to support a project that will have a lasting impact on students and educators alike.”
The project reflects the collaborative approach behind the Acronis Cyber Foundation #TeamUp Program, which brings together Acronis and its global partner ecosystem to support education and community development initiatives worldwide.
Funding provided by Acronis and NetFusion enabled the school to establish the robotics classroom and support a dedicated robotics teaching role to help ensure the program’s long-term sustainability. Costa Rica-based Acronis partner Eximo also contributed in-kind support through donations of backpacks and school supplies for students.
“We believe in supporting communities in ways that create meaningful and lasting opportunities,” said Matt Daryoush, CEO of NetFusion. “This STEAM lab will provide students with access to interactive learning experiences that encourage critical thinking, collaboration, and creativity. Seeing the students’ enthusiasm firsthand reinforced the importance of initiatives like this.”

The program is already generating positive momentum within the local community. According to ChildHope Network, the introduction of STEAM-focused education has contributed to increased enrollment and growing interest in technology-driven learning opportunities.
“This is more than a classroom — it is a place where students can discover new possibilities for their future,” said Mary Mahon, President of ChildHope Network. “We are grateful to be part of a partnership that is helping create meaningful, long-term change for these students and their families.”
The official opening ceremony featured student presentations, robotics demonstrations, musical performances, and interactive sessions with teachers and families, giving attendees an opportunity to experience the program’s impact firsthand.
The Costa Rica robotics lab is part of Acronis’ broader commitment to advancing education and digital skills development through the Acronis Cyber Foundation Program. Since its launch in 2018, the program has supported the construction of more than 40 schools and computer classrooms worldwide and reached more than 65,000 people through educational and humanitarian initiatives.
By working closely with partners around the world, Acronis continues to expand access to technology education and help create opportunities for future generations.
