Acronis, WorkSimple & FC Bayern Basketball host ReDI School students to explore careers in tech

On April 23, 2026, Acronis, together with our valued partners Bernhard Altschäffel, CEO of WorkSimple, and Sebastian Ferschl, Head of Business Strategy at FC Bayern Basketball, had the pleasure of welcoming students from ReDI School of Digital Integration to our Munich office for an inspiring afternoon dedicated to exploring career opportunities in the tech industry. During the event, “Career Paths in the Tech World,” speakers shared their journeys, insights, and practical advice with a diverse group of learners.

ReDI School of Digital Integration Munich is a non-profit organization that provides free tech education to the immigrant population of the city. Their programs help students gain practical digital skills, build professional networks, and access career opportunities in the tech industry opening doors to long-term integration and employment. We are especially proud that Acronis has been supporting ReDI School for the past three years, and to have business partners who share our values and join us in this meaningful initiative. This partnership reflects our commitment to making technology education more accessible and inclusive. We are truly happy to contribute and support a community that empowers people to build new futures through digital skills.

The event agenda was designed to showcase the wide variety of roles available in tech beyond software development. Through a series of talks, students learned that careers in technology can span sales, HR, operations, and more. Speakers shared their personal career journeys, daily responsibilities, and the skills needed to succeed. A key message throughout the event was that curiosity, communication, and a willingness to learn are just as important as technical expertise. Participants also saw practical examples of how tools like Microsoft Office and AI are used in everyday work – from analyzing data and preparing presentations to improving productivity and decision-making. From career journeys like “from the farm to the cloud” to international roles in sales and HR, speakers demonstrated that there is no single path into tech. The diversity of backgrounds resonated strongly with students, many of whom are just beginning their own professional journeys in a new cultural and professional environment.

To make the day even more memorable, Sebastian Ferschl (FC Bayern Munich Basketball) surprised active students with tickets to a basketball game in Munich, an experience that brought smiles and added a fun, personal touch to the event.

The feedback from participants was overwhelmingly positive. Students shared that they found the event both useful and motivating, especially appreciating the practical insights and the opportunity to connect with professionals. Many left with a clearer understanding of the variety of roles in tech and the confidence that they, too, can build a career in this field.

We would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to our employees and partners who contributed their time and energy. Your commitment to sharing knowledge and supporting others truly reflects the mission and values we stand for!
