The first day back at school is always filled with excitement, anticipation, and new beginnings. This year, for 200 students at Prathmik Shala Khodiyar Nagar Jol, a government primary school in Anand, Gujarat, India, it also came with new backpacks and the school supplies they need to start the academic year with confidence.
Acronis and Nilmay System joined forces to provide essential educational materials for children from underserved backgrounds. Together, the partners donated 200 backpacks filled with stationery sets, along with shoes, helping ensure that every child has the basic tools needed to participate fully in the classroom.
India has made remarkable progress in expanding access to education over the past decades, with primary school enrollment now reaching the vast majority of children. Yet for many families, particularly those with limited financial resources, the cost of basic school supplies can still present a significant challenge. In Gujarat, one of India’s most economically dynamic states, many government schools continue to serve children from vulnerable communities, where providing simple essentials such as notebooks, writing materials, and appropriate footwear can make a meaningful difference in school attendance, participation, and confidence. Access to these everyday items helps remove barriers to learning and allows students to focus on what matters most: their education.
Prathmik Shala Khodiyar Nagar Jol is a government school serving students from Grades 1 to 8 in Anand district. Established in 1991, the school provides education in Gujarati and includes facilities such as a library, classrooms, and a school-prepared mid-day meal program, supporting children from the surrounding community.
To celebrate the beginning of the new school term, representatives from Acronis and Nilmay System visited the school in person to hand over the supplies and spend time with students and teachers.
