Cybersafety for the family workshop with gotec! and Constructor Group

The Acronis Cyber Foundation Program, local partner gotec!, and Constructor Group recently collaborated to deliver a comprehensive workshop for families.

The workshop on 31 March 2023 was designed to equip families with the knowledge and skills to stay safe online and also addressed the importance of creating strong passwords and using two-factor authentication to protect personal accounts.

The event was attended by 22 participants from diverse family backgrounds, including parents, grandparents, and children. The participants had the opportunity to interact with Acronis cybersecurity expert Candid Wüest, who shared his insights on preventing online threats. The interactive sessions included role-playing activities, quizzes, and group discussions.

One of the workshop’s highlights was a live code-cracking demonstration using a bicycle lock, showcasing how easy it is for cybercriminals to access personal information. The demonstration emphasized the need for families to be vigilant and take proactive measures to protect themselves and their loved ones.

The workshop also included practical tips on how to stay safe while using social media platforms. Participants were taught how to adjust privacy settings and limit the amount of personal information shared online. They were also advised to be cautious when accepting friend requests from strangers and to report any suspicious activity immediately.
