Children today grow up in a world where being online is second nature. From gaming and social media to schoolwork and AI-powered tools, the internet plays a huge role in their daily lives making cyber safety education more important than ever. That’s why Acronis, together with Malta-based managed services provider Eyetech, recently hosted two interactive cyber safety workshops for children from Mellieħa Football Club in Malta. Through games, teamwork, and hands-on activities, around 60 children aged 8–13 learned how to recognize online risks, protect personal information, and make smarter digital choices.

The initiative brought Acronis’ cyber safety education mission directly into the local Maltese community through the leadership and enthusiasm of Eyetech, showing how partners can help create meaningful impact beyond technology. Eyetech led “The Case of the Hacked Tablet,” an interactive cyber detective game where children worked together to uncover suspicious online activity and learn how to protect sensitive information. The session encouraged critical thinking while introducing important cybersecurity concepts in a fun and accessible way. Acronis followed with “The Cyber Detectives: True or False Challenge,” a dynamic physical activity focused on topics such as phishing, password safety, online privacy, fake news, AI awareness, digital footprints, and responsible online behavior. By combining movement and discussion, the workshop helped make cyber awareness memorable and engaging for the children.
Together, the sessions created an energetic learning environment where cybersecurity became something approachable, practical, and fun.

For Eyetech, the event reflected the company’s ongoing commitment to giving back to the local community. After seeing Acronis’ cyber safety education initiatives firsthand, Eyetech decided to bring the concept to Malta and adapt it for local children. By combining its strong understanding of the community with Acronis’ broader mission of improving digital literacy worldwide, the partnership turned an idea into meaningful action.
“It was incredibly rewarding for Eyetech to contribute locally and help children in our community develop safer digital habits,” said Patrick Cutajar, CEO of Eyetech. “We first saw this type of educational initiative at Acronis and decided to replicate it here in Malta. In today’s digital world, helping children understand online risks, misinformation, privacy, and digital responsibility is more important than ever, especially as AI-powered tools continue to accelerate and evolve the threat landscape.”
The initiative also highlights the mission of the Acronis Cyber Foundation Program, Acronis’ corporate social responsibility initiative focused on education, digital literacy, IT skills development, and environmental preservation around the world.
“As children spend more time online and interact with digital platforms from an early age, cyber safety education has become more important than ever,” said Slav Umlenov, Country Manager CEE at Acronis. “By combining education with interactive games and teamwork, we make cybersecurity concepts easier to understand, more memorable, and more engaging for young audiences.”
At Acronis, we believe cyber protection starts with education. By working together with partners like Eyetech, we can help empower the next generation with the knowledge and confidence they need to navigate the digital world safely and responsibly, and we thank the Eyetech team and our Acronis employees for their passion, support, and dedication in bringing this initiative to life for the children of Mellieħa Football Club.
