Acronis volunteers recently delivered interactive cyber safety classes to middle school students in Romania, helping them better understand how to stay safe in today’s digital environment.
Led by Rareș Matei, with support from Silvia Filip and Ruxandra Popa, the initiative reached approximately 400 students across two schools: Laude‑Reut Educational Complex (160 students) and Cezar Bolliac School (240 students).

The sessions covered topics such as phishing, cyberbullying, malware, and the importance of protecting personal data and using strong passwords, alongside an introduction to generative AI and its risks.
The impact was clearly reflected in participants’ feedback. As one student shared:
The cybersecurity activity taught me to create a strong password and not reuse it… and that public Wi‑Fi is not as secure as it seemed. — Maria C.

Teachers also highlighted the value of the sessions. As Prof. Anca V. noted:
The presentation was really interesting and engaging… The kids paid close attention and remained engaged the entire time.
Students actively participated, shared personal experiences, and showed strong curiosity throughout the sessions, demonstrating the effectiveness of combining technical knowledge with real-life examples.💙
