A cyber safety awareness session was recently delivered at the University of Bucharest (UniBuc), Romania, engaging 20 master’s and doctoral students in a 1.5-hour interactive presentation on emerging digital risks.

The session, led by Rares Matei, focused on key topics shaping today’s cyber landscape, including digital footprint management, phishing, ransomware, and the growing risks linked to Generative AI and deepfakes. Students explored how evolving technologies can be used both as learning tools and as vectors for manipulation, fraud, and misinformation.
Practical guidance was also shared on how to stay safe online, from strengthening password practices and identifying suspicious content to understanding how personal data can be exploited
By connecting cybersecurity with real-world scenarios relevant to young professionals, this initiative contributed to strengthening digital awareness at an important stage of students’ academic and career journeys.💙
