Nicaragua is currently ranked as the 4th least-developed country in Latin America on the UN Human Development Index. Poverty often comes with a lack of educational infrastructure for children. However, basic education is essential for children and their families to break the cycle of poverty.
With joint forces at the Acronis Global Cyber Summit, October 13th – 16th, 2019 we raised enough funding for a new school building in Nicaragua. The newly built classrooms will provide a safe and suitable learning environment for 77 children from a local community. Moreover, proper sanitary facilities will reduce health risks, school drop-out rates and enable especially girls to stay in school. The basement is already finished, walls construction is in progress. The construction process was initially planned for Q2 2020, but due to pandemic we had to postpone the works.
